How to make lu sipi.

This is the recipe for my favourite food

 How to make lu sipi
 My favourite food is lu sipi. It is a Tongan food.


Ingredients
  • Lu
  • Sipi
  • Coconut cream
  • Onion
  • Sait


Materials
  • chopping board
  • big sharp knife
  • foil
  • umu/oven


Method: How to make the delicious lu


  1.  Chop the sipi into small pieces.


  1. Put it in a medium size boiling pot.


  1. Turn the stove on high and put the pot with the chopped pieces of sipi (lamb) in it and let it cook but not too cooked.


  1. Clean the lu leaves with water.

  1. Cut the foil in a rectangular shape of about 120cms.
Note. You can have two pieces of a rectangular shape so it is thick enough and it won’t get ripped easily.


  1. Cut 2 large onions into small cubes.


  1. Lay the lu one at the time nicely on top of each leaf so it can hold the coconut cream and meat inside. 


  1. Grab two big spoonfuls of sipi  and pour it onto the small pile of lu.


  1. Add a small handful of onions on top of the meat.


  1. Hold up the pile of lu then pour 1 cup of coconut cream into it.


  1.  Wrap it up neatly and tightly with the foil.


  1. Put it in the umu or oven and cooked it for one or two hours until it cooked properly.
